Captain Amarinder Singh Appointed as a Punjabi Congress President

On Tuesday, The AICC (All India Congress Committee) announced the name of former Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh as President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC).
The 68-years-old, Captain Amarinder Singh served as the Chief Minister of Punjab from 2002 to 2007 and presently represents the Patiala assembly segment of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha. The Union Minister of State of External Affairs of India or his wife, Maharani Preneet Kaur was elected to Parliament sequentially for three times from 1999 to 2009.
Previously, Captain Amarinder Singh was worked as a President of PPCC in 1998 to 2002 and congress got the power in 2002 assembly elections. Now AICC is expected that he is capability to lead the party for 2012 assembly elections.
