CBC Cuts Hockey Night in Punjabi

The C.B.C announced they were stopped their online broadcasts of Hockey Night in Canada, which is aired in Punjabi language. The C.B.C began the broadcasting from the Stanley Cup finals in May 2008. They did show hockey games on their website in Punjabi.
Spokesman Jeff Keay said, “I’m sure there are going to be people disappointed in this and that’s unfortunate. We have to make decisions sometimes that not everyone agrees with, but I think at the end of the day, it was a successful experiment.”
Now, the net work might broadcast the Stanley Cup playoffs in Punjabi and other languages. But, from the regular season on words it will be English only this is begins on Thursday. The cancellation follows deep staff and program cuts at the CBC, which faced a $171 million deficit last year.
