Gurdas Maan Punjabi Singer

The Punjabi singer, songwriter, choreographer and actor, Gurdas Maan was born on January 4th, 1957 in Giddarbaha in Muktsar, Punjabi. Before starting his professional carrier, he received a Masters Degree in Physical Education from the National Institute of Sports in the Patiala. He took part in youth festivals organized by various universities and won several awards for his singing and acting.
Gurdas Maan performed a song, which written himself called, ‘Dil Da Mamla Hai’ this song give him a national attention in India and Punjabi. Later, he never seen back and released more than 50 albums and wrote more than 300 songs so far.
Gurdas Maan has got the 1998 Asian Pop and Media Award for his album ‘Apna Punjab’ in Birmingham and he also got Best Song award for the title track and Best International Artist award in the same year.
Gurdas Maan has received an honorary degree of Doctor of Music from the University of Wolverhampton. Recently, he won the Best International Album award in the UK Asian Music Awards for the ‘Boot Polishan’.
