Indian Government has given nod to Four River-cleaning Projects in Punjab

, the Union minister for environment and forest said that centre has sanctioned for cleaning the Sutlej and Beas rivers in various districts of Punjab. This project worth’s Rs.504 crore.
There are other projects worth Rs.104 crore which are currently under examination of Union environment ministry. Talking about the news Jairam Ramesh says, “These new proposed projects are cleaning for Ghaggar river and are coming up at Rajpura, Munnat, Pathran, Dera Bassi, Lehar Ghaga and Khannouri,”
Earlier, eight projects worth Rs.215 crore for sewerage treatment plans has already been implemented in Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Phagwara, Phillaur, Sultanpur Lodhi and Kapurthala.
