Punjab Di Shaan Sansarpur

‘Sansarpur’, every hockey fan would know this name. This is not a player name or nick name or not a big city. It is a small village in Jalandhar district in Punjab, India.
This village people feeling proud as 14 Olympian hockey stars have come to hockey world from this village. The most interesting thing is all the 14 members surname is “Kular” and all are coming from the same street in this village.
Sansarpur is located at Jalandhar in Punjab. The players practiced with out any coach, ground and they did not get any funds from government agencies.
The national or international hockey team is formed without including Sansarpur players then it is called “Nursery of Indian hockey team.” In Olympic Games, these players got eight gold medals, one silver medal. Six bronze medals, four gold medals and eight silver medals in the Asian Games.
The five of Olympians won the India highest sporting Award “Arjun Award.”
