Punjab Government Purchased 54 Lakh Tones of Paddy

According to the latest reports, Punjab Government has purchased above 54.58 lakh tones of paddy through government agencies only. The private traders have purchased only 1.23 lakh tones of paddy.
The Central Government agency FCI has purchased 2.68 tones of food grains in Punjab. The Punjab state government has established over 1,700 centers to purchase paddy in the state. The government has purchased 7.26 tones of paddy in Ferozepur district, which is highest production in the state.
Jalandar district is in second place with 5.09 lakh tones and Faridkot district is in next place with 4.25 lakh tones of paddy production.
