Punjab Government to Honor Commonwealth Games Winners

Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, Sukhbir Singh congratulated the Commonwealth Games medal winners from Punjab. Sukhbir Singh announced the price money for the winner of Commonwealth Games winners of Punjab.
According to the latest reports, the winner of gold medal will be honored with the cash prize of Rs. 7 lakh, silver medal winner will be honoured with Rs. 5 lakh and bronze medal winner will be honored with Rs. 3 lakh. Sukhbir Singh says that the price money is given based on the new sports policy farmed by the state government to promote sports among the youth.
Punjab Deputy Chief Minister says, “We wish create a sports culture and transform Punjab into number one sports in the country,” The Punjab won the medals in athletics, boxing and shooting.
In athletics, the Punjab state participant, Harwant Kaur won silver. Mandeep Kaur and Manjit Kaur won gold.
In Boxing Amandeep Singh won bronze.
In Shooting, Abhinav Bindra won gold in Air Rifle 10 m Pair and silver in Air Rifle 10 m single, Ronjan Sodhi won silver in double trap single and pair, Manavjit Sandhu won bronze won bronze in trap individual and silver in trap pair, Mansher Singh won silver in trap pair and Heena Sidhu won gold in 10 m Pistol Pair.
