Roger Federer Equal Pete Sampras’s haul of 64 ATP titles Record

Roger Federer defeated Germany’s Florian Mayer with 6-4 6-3 in the Stockholm Open on Sunday and equals the Pete Sampras’s haul of 64 ATP titles record. Roger Federer has won 64 ATP titles in his career so far.
Roger Federer recently reached the mark of 900th career singles wins club. The 16-time grand slum winner won his 50th of the year on Friday. He is the fifth man since the Open era began in 1968.
The 29-year-old Swiss world number two said, “It is amazing that I’m there where Pete’s ended his career.” This is the first title in Sweden in his career. By wining this title he won the 18 countries titles so far.
Roger Federer said, “You never know when it’s your last one, that’s why you want to savor every tournament, early on, I think that feeling of wanting to prove yourself to the world and all the doubters is a very strong one, so you’re very aggressive in your ways of winning and not enjoying them.”
He added, “Today it’s much more of the enjoyment part because I don’t need to prove myself to anyone anymore, except to myself.”
